Ye Olde Bell Hotel
Beautifully renovated by the owners over the last decade, each of the hotel’s 59 rooms, suites and lodges are individually designed with original features mixed with elegant contemporary design. With its ornate furniture, striking fabrics and classic touches, each room offers all of the modern amenities including a spacious bathroom, power shower, flat screen television and free Wi-Fi.
Policies have been put in place to ensure the safety of all its customers during the current climate by adhering to government guidelines, meaning it is ideal for both a family vacation or a romantic getaway.
All of the restaurants on site are open: Restaurant 1650, St Leger Bar and Bistro and the Herb Garden Brasserie and are all enduring safe social distanced dining.
The award-winning food here is stunning, from afternoon tea and light snacks in the spa – to exquisite three-course meals from locally sourced produce in the oak-paneled Restaurant 1650 with its contemporary art-deco bar.
Ye Olde Bell Spa
The luxurious Spa within the hotel vicinity is also available to book for spa days and individual treatments to all.
After visiting the lavish changing rooms, complete with vanity stations, you will be led into the open spa area.
This elegant open space, complete with beds and chairs surrounding the Vitality Pool also has various doors leading to amazing walk-in treatment rooms.
Due to current restrictions, the sauna and steam rooms are currently unavailable, but there are plenty of other ways to unwind: including bubbling foot baths, walk in showers, and for the brave – the cold bucket shower and the snow walk.
There is also the Salt Inhalation Room: a low lit space to spend some quiet time to relax and reflect.
The salt wall simulates a marine climate (which with repeated use can aid respiratory problems, sinuses and allergies).
The heated Infinity pool leads to an outdoor area where you can take advantage of the air recliners, a mini air tub, a reflexology station, water massage jets and a water curtain.
And surrounding the outside pool are lots of options to lay back and forget the world’s worries: grab a hot chocolate in the alpine chalets, snuggle up with a loved on in the rattan apple, or warm up on the heated loungers with a glass of fizz.
There are dozens of treatments also available on the first floor of the spa.
You can book into the Sabbia Med treatment room and feel like you’re on the beach in a luxurious country.
The therapy replicates sunrise to sunset in a 30-minute cycle where low levels of UV are emitted to release Vitamin D.
A whole host of massages, wraps and facials are available from £50 for 30 minute treatments to £145 for 120 minutes with all the details available on their website.
This hidden gem in the tiny Nottinghamshire village is a must visit for those looking for UK staycations where they can take a few days to unwind and indulge in some fantastic food.
