European city breaks: The 14 weekend getaways from UK you won’t need to quarantine from

Bank Holiday weekend is just around the corner, and Britons will be able to enjoy a three day break. Under normal circumstances Brits may be rushing to jet away for the last bank holiday before Christmas, however the list of countries which can be visited without having to quarantine on arrival back to the UK is getting smaller.

The Government is not afraid to close down the so called travel corridors if coronavirus spikes in certain countries.

However there are a list of countries which Britons can safely visit to without fear of having to quarantine on return.

One of these is Italy, and a city break to Italy could be the perfect bank holiday weekend treat.

Turin is the birthplace of solid chocolate, with plenty of chocolate shops throughout the city.

Another foody recommendation for visiting anywhere in Italy is to try the gelato, coffee and, of course, the local cuisine.

You can also visit the picturesque Lake Como, Lake Garda or Lake Maggiore, or take in the sites of Milan cathedral.

Another destination is Portugal, which again is just a short flight from UK airports.

You can visit the Belem Tower in Lisbon – known as the Tower of Saint Vincent – is a 16th-century building built at the height of the Portuguese Resistance.

For the more adventurous, you can also take a kayak around the Lisbon coast, exploring the hidden coves around the coastline.

Poland is also on the Governments travel corridor list, and is ideal for a long weekend away or city break.

Known for its vibrant cities, you can visit Krakow, Warsaw or Gdansk, with a range of tourist attractions.
